The Grange at Oborne is a beautiful, three-star country house hotel, set within the rolling hills of West Dorset, just one mile from the charming town of Sherborne and seven miles from Yeovil. Formerly a manor house, The Grange has undergone a transformation to a luxury country house hotel with eighteen bedrooms and a delightful restaurant overlooking the floodlit gardens.

The Grange is in the perfect position to explore Dorset, Somerset and historic Wessex. There are plenty of things for you to do during your stay with us: Stonehenge, Longleat Estate and Safari Park, Stourhead House and Gardens, shopping in Sherborne or Bath, horse riding, shooting and hot air ballooning to name but a few - all are within easy reach of the hotel.

Accommodation
The Grange has eighteen hotel rooms with a mixture of different styles. Some bedrooms are traditionally decorated with silk throws and original fireplaces, whilst the newer rooms have a more contemporary feel. Some of our rooms have views across the rooftops of the village to the rolling Dorset hills beyond.
Some have balconies; the perfect place for a leisurely morning coffee. Some have French windows onto the garden where you can enjoy a relaxing stroll across the lawn. In all of our rooms you will find comfortable beds, crisp white linen, refreshing showers and fluffy towels. You will awake relaxed and revived, looking forward to a tasty breakfast

Breakfast at The Grange is truly delicious. Choose from a full English breakfast, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, kippers or perhaps a continental breakfast of cheeses and meats served with croissants - as well as the delicious offerings on our buffet, the ingredients all sourced as locally as possible. We have two rooms on the ground floor, one of which has wheelchair access. Please see our Access Statement for further information.

All rooms have an en-suite shower or bath room, tea and coffee making facilities, mineral water, biscuits, hairdryer, telephone, television and free wireless internet access.
Restaurant
Relax in the lounge over an aperitif whilst you look at the menu and make your selections. Once the chefs have prepared your dinner you will be led through to the restaurant to dine by candlelight, overlooking the floodlit gardens; a delightful experience. Dinner is contemporary English cuisine, served in a relaxed atmosphere by friendly, smiling staff. Back to the lounge after dinner to enjoy coffee and petits fours sitting by the log fire.
The head chef Nick Holt has worked tirelessly to create menus for The Grange using fresh, local, and seasonal produce. He draws from his experience in France, Ireland and the UK to blend flavours to make a truly delicious meal.
Yes, we know it is old fashioned, but we love it and so do our guests; the dessert trolley! What better way to finish your meal than to have the desserts brought to your table and watch your selections expertly served just for you? The dessert trolley has been a favourite at The Grange for over thirty years, and for the last twenty years the same man has been making those famous desserts, pastry chef Julian Batten.
Awards
In November 2008 the restaurant was awarded an AA Rosette, recognition of Nick and Julian’s hard work and creativity. The Rosette is awarded to 'excellent restaurants that stand out in their local area. The food is prepared with care, understanding and skill, using good-quality ingredients.'

Dietary Requirements
We are able to cater for guests with special diets and regularly prepare dishes that are gluten free, dairy free or suitable for a diabetic diet. However we would recommend that you let us know of your special requirements when booking. The restaurant can be quite busy especially at weekends. Please book a table in advance to avoid disappointment.

The Day
The Grange at Oborne will provide you with the perfect venue for your whole day: an intimate hotel in a quiet rural setting. Your guests arrive at The Grange eagerly anticipating the day ahead.
The Bride walks up the aisle, the ceremony begins, you take your vows in front of your closest friends and family. As a newly married couple, you wander into the beautiful gardens for photographs, while your guests enjoy a glass of chilled champagne and a selection of delicious canapés. After the drinks reception, you move inside to the elegant Regent Room for a sumptuous three-course wedding breakfast. With the cake cut and the toasts finished, why not take coffee in the floodlit gardens whilst the room is transformed for your evening function. The band playing under the starlight ceiling, the flicker of candles, your first dance... a truly memorable experience.

The Grange is not part of a chain, it is a small privately owned and family run hotel. We will meet with you as often as you wish in the run-up to your wedding. We will be there along the way to offer our advice and expertise and together, we will create a day uniquely designed for you. You may find it helpful to take advantage of the relationship that we have with a number of our suppliers, to achieve your perfect day. We will be in attendance on the day and, with the information you have given us, we will organise and manage your wedding, creating a seamless flow of events.
You will be left to enjoy every moment with your family and friends. This service will continue until the last guest has put down his glass and gone to bed; every detail will be attended to.
