Navigate your way through the site for details on the luxurious bed and breakfast accommodation in the main mansion, the recently renovated farm building that has been transformed into an outstanding private holiday cottage, the chalk steam fishing, the livery and nursery.
An ideal holiday destination for walkers, cyclists and tranquillity hunters! Culeaze House is a lovingly restored classic Victorian mansion built by Radcliffe in 1887. On reaching the main entrance, guests walk under a pair of antlers in the stone porch and are then greeted by fresh flowers, hunting hats and a tiger head watching from under the table! Rooms are lavishly furnished with fine antiques and paintings, and guests can enjoy a glass of whisky whilst taking in the 3 acres of beautiful manicured garden.
Culeaze B & B
This mellow mansion is set in stunning surroundings replete with deer, pheasant and trout. At the end of the central path in the beautiful walled garden stands a Victorian Summer House where guests can relax with a good book and soak in the atmosphere. The house is home to 4 beautifully furnished, luxurious Bed and Breakfast rooms. All bedrooms are centrally heated and are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, colour TV, trouser press and a complimentary decanter of whiskey.
Breakfast is served in the dining room, and in the summer months, guests can enjoy beautiful Dorset sunny mornings by breakfasting in the large conservatory. Of a cold winter evening, guests can enjoy a roaring fire in the Library, complete with leopard skin on the floor and fading family photographs a wonderfully Dickensian room, but at the same time warm and welcoming.
Culeaze dinners are a culinary delight! Trout, pheasant and duck from the estate are offered and all meals are home cooked to perfection. Please bring your own wine.

Hunting Lodge

We are delighted to be able to introduce you to The Hunting Lodge, the latest development to be added to the estate and a fantastic holiday destination.
The Hunting Lodge has Category 2 facilities for the disabled. We have endeavoured to honour our regular clients by ensuring Culeaze is a tranquil destination ideal for people in search of peace, quiet and seclusion.
The outstanding development of 18stables, yard, tack room and individual fodder barns accommodate keen horse enthusiasts. This new development is easily accessible from the road and has ample parking. From the livery, a track leads to the wonderful variety of off-road rides in Wareham Forest. At present, there is grazing at Culeaze for 20 horses. All fields have new plain-wire fencing with a top electric wire and water troughs from main supplies. There isn't a better way to see this beautiful county than on horseback!
Fishing
Running through the Culeaze Estate, is one of the West Country best kept fishing secrets: The River Piddle. The most natural of all the chalk streams, the delightful River Piddle is perfect for those in search of truly wild trout. With 8 beats on offer, this is challenging fishing in beautiful surroundings.The season runs from 1st April to 15th October and tuition is available.

Last year Culeaze was host to 14 wedding receptions all held in marquees within the beautiful grounds, confirming that this is a perfect location for a really special occasion. With the main house nestled into 4 acres of mature gardens and overlooking the lake, marquees are placed to ensure guests benefit from the stunning surroundings with beautiful views and a peaceful and tranquil setting. At night the whole area is floodlit. For smaller parties the main house is a fantastic venue full of character and charm.

The Main House:
For parties in the house, The Hall can sit up to 20 people around a magnificent 19th Century refectory table. Surrounded by valuable oil paintings, tiger skins and antlers the effect is of a Medieval banqueting hall. The landing halfway up the stairs makes an ideal minstrels gallery for background music.
After dinner, guests can enjoy the Drawing Room or Library for their coffee and liqueurs. In winter these rooms have roaring log fires while in the summer guests can pass through the large Victorian conservatory full of rare plants into the 3 acres of manicured gardens. This classic Victorian mansion stands centrally in the 4 acre garden. It contains valuable oil paintings and antiques. There are 4 double or twin rooms all of which are en suite and have tea and coffee facilities and fridges.
The Blue Room, offers a perfect bridal suite and comes complete with a complimentary bottle of champagne and flowers. Access to the house is restricted to the Guests who are staying there.
Marquee and accessories:
There are 6 new, top quality clear span marquees. The two main marquees measure 20m by 12m and can comfortably sit 70 guests each at 8 round tables of 5ft diameter. In addition there are numerous trestle tables for bar or buffet. The other 4 marquees measure 10m by 12m. They can be attached to the main marquee to increase the total sitting capacity to approximately 130 guests. Alternatively they could also be used to take the dance floor in one and a buffet and/or bar in the other. |
